The legend of Ceavccageađge/the Fish Oil Stone
From Enare in Finland we have an old legend about the Fish Oil Stone. It tells about Beaive-Voulab, a mythical figure known across large parts of Sápmi (the Sami areas of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia). Beaive-Voulab was extremely strong. Once when he was fishing in Varanger he was challenged by the Norwegians to show his strength. He then took a large stone, lifted it up in the air and placed it in the ground. "This stone, Ceavccageađge is its name, can be seen at a place near the shore on the northern side of the Varangerfjord," the story tells.
